Boog Brown’s latest video off her Brown Study Remixes project finds her radiating through the darkness (much like her music metaphorically does). Directed by W. Feagins Jr of High Impact Multimedia, Brown is centered in a pitch black room (think D’Angelo’s ”Untitled” minus the nudity). The searing orange waves emanating from Brown gives her the appearance of a Hip-Hop phoenix emerging from the abyss. “Shine” will also be featured on Nick Tha 1Da’s forthcoming album Give Tha Drumma None.

Boog Brown “Detroit”

Fans can expect big things from Boog Brown in 2012. On January 17, she’ll be releasing a vinyl edition of her Brown Study LP. This fall she’ll drop another collaboration project, this time with West Coast renaissance woman Georgia Anne Muldrow. But for now, Boog is hitting fans with an ode to her original stomping grounds, “Detroit.” Apollo Brown’s smooth production is almost ballad-like and perfect for the reminiscing feel of Boog’s lyrics.

Boog Brown “Growth (14KT Remix)”

In case you need any more reasons to check out/purchase the remix of Boog Brown’s Brown Study LP, here’s a head-nodding reinterpretation of “Growth” from 14KT. A close friend of Boog’s, 14KT details his recollections of her artistic development and the pride he takes in this remix. Brown Study: The Remixes can be purchased HERE.
“Growth” is one my favorite joints off of Boog Brown’s “Brown Study” album. It was really a special moment for me to have the honor to remix it. I thought about back in 05′ when me and Boog used to hit up this spot called “The Firefly” for a night called “Elevation”. We were always freestyling by the piano in the corner. I already knew she was a jewel with the poetry, but this was the early beginnings of me being exposed to her rhyme skills. Not to long afterwards she would come through my studio to record songs. Fast forward to now, she’s established herself as viable, beautiful, prolific, and a powerful lyricist with an ILL voice as a weapon. When I was in the lab, I just wanted to compliment her voice and create a beat that had the classic feeling that the lyrics gave me. Simple, yet optimistic type vibe ya dig? The irony is i’m just honored because I got to see and be a part of the process of Boog’s “growth” through it all.
Boog Brown “My Love” (Georgia Muldrow Remix)

“Love is an experience I’m not trying to miss over some dumb shit…”
Georgia Anne Muldrow lends her eclectic talents to the second leak off Boog Brown’s upcoming Brown Study Remixes (December 20). Lyrically, Boog is celebrating the essence of a man who is her king, protector, lover and best friend. Muldrow’s muffled and distorted effect of the main melody give the track a nice groove to compliment Brown’s assertive vocals. You can pre-order The Brown Study Remixes HERE.
