Big-Boi-Vicious-Lies-and-Dangerous-Rumors-cover

Big Boi takes up on a quick, guerrilla-cam trip through ATL in his new video for the 808-heavy “In the A.” Funny thing is, from the beat you’d expect Ludacris to murder this song with the frenetic flow that defined his initial albums. Instead it’s T.I. who takes that approach and blows everyone away. Check out Luda’s shot at trap muzik to close his verse. This song is featured on Big Boi’s latest album Vicious Lines and Dangerous Rumors.

The numerous leaked/potential tracks over the last few months  from T.I.’s Trouble Man (December 18) have been a mixed bag, but “Hello” can be placed on the “good side.” After the over the top nature of Ceelo’s Christmas album, the Goodie Mob frontman gives a more understated (and appropriate) performance. The track is available for purchase HERE on iTunes.

Director Marc Klasfeld takes T.I. and Lil Wayne to New Orleans for some slices of hood, carnival and skating culture in this video for “Ball.” A couple more dance scenes with the ladies would’ve been nice, but overall not bad. The reaction over the last week or so on this track has been mixed, but T.I. still has a good month and change to continue building anticipation for Trouble Man (December 18).

T.I.’s been dropping a steady output of music over the last year, but nothing has stuck thus far to really launch his Trouble Man album. “Go Get It” may just change that. Is this a hit or will Tip be back to the drawing board?

No matter how commercial the singles, the “old T.I.” is always below the surface and ready to be unleashed. “Like That” is an excellent reminder of Tip’s skill level when he decides to let loose and take it back to his I’m Serious/Trap Muzik days. The new album Trouble Man drops on September 4. Tip is on the right track is he decides to take the project’s feel in this direction.

Future got big support from some of Atlanta’s biggest names earlier this week at his Pluto album release party. Even if you’re not a Future fan, the below video is worth viewing simply on the strength of the dude he had on stage in a full spaceman suit. Shout out to director and homie Cam Kirk for his excellent footage. Future’s Pluto is in stores now.

Ke$ha ups her already good “Sleazy Remix” with Andre 3000 by adding three more name emcees. Smartly keeping the same infectious beat, each rapper’s rhymes are placed in the mouths of a highly unlikely counterpart. Wonder if Wiz feels some kind of way about his verse being placed with drag queens.

A remix of this track with 50 surfaced just over a week ago. Bay Area radio host Big Von has created his own spin in adding Young Jeezy and T.I. to the lineup. Credit due to 50; his performance is a massive improvement over the sad trend pandering heard on his Jeremih-featuring “Girls Go Wild.” The additional star power rounds out what was already an adequate club joint.

Since his return, “the kang” has had a string of dominant guest features. Can he keep that momentum on his own? Fans will get a big indication of that answer via this new all-star mixtape Fuck Da City Up. Tip has enlisted an album-worthy collection of features and producers in Just Blaze, Too $hort, Pusha T, B.o.B., Nelly, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Mannie Fresh and Dr. Dre. Those expecting T.I. to deliver on his vow to return to his Trap Muzik roots should be pleased.

T.I. has wisely created a video for “Hear Ye Hear Ye,” undoubtedly one of his best performances since coming home. Pharrell ain’t half bad on here either. Jeezy also returns the love from Tip’s “F.A.M.E.” video appearance. T.I.’s new Trouble Man album is still tentatively scheduled for an early 2012 release.
