There are rules to this game. Oh No, Phife and Jose James run down the sacrifices and no-nos to gaining respect as an emcee. The jazz backdrop, sprinkled with bebop trumpet notes and light vocals, gives this one the feel of a lounge jam session. “Dues N Don’ts” can be found on Oh No’s Dolemite tribute album Ohnomite.

We return to the Blaxpoitation era for Oh No and MF Doom’s Dolemite-inspired “3 Dollars.” Duly note the 70s rump shaking. Ohnomite drops on June 5.

What would you do if you were given access to legend Rudy Ray Moore aka Dolemite’s entire catalogue? If you’re producer/emcee Oh No, you create Ohnomite, a 19-track album that pulls from Moore’s signature works such as The Human Tornado, Petey Wheatstraw and the Dolemite Soundtrack. Joining the ride are a big cast of guest spots from Chino XL, Termanology, Phife, Roc Marciano, Guilty Simpson Rapper Big Pooh, Alchemist, Erick Sermon and today’s track featuring the reclusive MF Doom.

Listening to this will make you hope these two make create more work together. Doom has the same chemistry with Oh No as he does with No’s older brother Madlib. And in keeping with most MF Doom tracks, the song is short with only two verses which leave you wanting more. Luckily, the wait for the entire project won’t be long as Ohnomite drops on June 6 via Brick Records.
