[VIDEO] Ricky Burns vs Kevin Mitchell: Weigh-In & Prediction

Burns: 135 lbs.

Mitchell: 134.5 lbs

Prediction: This is a tough one to call. Murray has completely rebounded from a drubbing at the hands of Michael Katsidis in 2010 with impressive victories over John Murray and Felix Lora. He’s hungry, can box on the outside, and can bang in the trenches with power. Still, despite Mitchell’s live underdog characteristics, I am leaning towards Burns for several reasons. For one, the fight is in Burns’ native country of Scotland and the thought of Mitchell taking seven decisive rounds or scoring a knockout on the durable WBO champion is a monumental task. Second, despite Mitchell having better hand speed, Burns is much more accurate with his straighter punches. I feel he’ll land the more eye-catching shots for a hometown crowd that’ll already be looking to go crazy for any Burns offense. Mitchell will make it close, but look for Burns to keep his title via unanimous decision with scores a little wider than they should be.

Watching the premlims now… Great undercard

I like both Burns and Mitchell, dont wanna see either lose, but I cant see Burns losing, they are good friends outside the ring to… Mitchell looks as focused as ever, as He knows He cant afford to lose again if He wants to fight for another World Title, but I think Burns will deal with, late KO, Mitchell can box though, saw it against Bredis Prescott, but Burns will Be too much…

Good to see Scott Harrison back again, what A legend He would of been if He hadnt gone down the wrong path of drink and prison… Hope He can win another World Title…
