OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA — Andre Ward and Chad Dawson met the media yesterday to officially kick off promotion for their September 8 fight at the Oracle Arena. Although there have been some groans from fans and media about the matchmaking, this is a fight I feel fans will warm up to the closer we get to the event. Because of Andre Dirrell’s injury, Ward did face any speedy southpaws during the Super Six, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles this challenge. On Dawson’s end, we’ll be how he deals with the inside rough-housing Ward brings.
Rap-A-Lot’s J. Prince has been involved with boxing for years, most notably with Diego Corrales, Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr and even Chad Dawson. He’s now with Ward, so you can already guess who he’s predicting to come out victorious.
